Martin Luther King Jr said, “Only in the darkness can you see the stars.”
Well, we all need to observe the life-cycle of a seed, it seeks darkness to germinate.
It is understood that you’re bogged down by the exam pressure, family expectations, anxiety, and fear of failure as well.
Here are a few ways you can raise your mind up from all the unnecessary negativity.
- Stop Comparing: We know you look at your friends and other students who probably always answer in the class, then your mind automatically compares you to them.
There’s no point in comparing oneself to others when each individual has a different journey, different life situations, different strengths and weaknesses. Comparing is only an extra baggage.
- Glorify your uniqueness and strengths: God and your family made you a fine composition of a set of varying strengths, they passed on a unique set of talents in your DNA, you developed a unique set of skills over the course of your life so far. Notice all of them, make a list and read them each day.
- Acknowledge your Journey so far: Whenever you feel scared, look back and acknowledge all the challenges you have overcome so far. Our minds have the tendency to remember the negatives more than the positives, so we forget all the triumph we have got so far with all the battles we’ve fought.
- Stay Close to Nature: We’re born from nature, thus nature has the ability to heal us holistically. Stay close to nature, spend some time under the open sky, nearby trees mending your garden or taking your pet to the park. Keep flowers on your study desk.
- Remember, You are Your own Hero: You came into this world alone, you’ll be going back to the universe alone, it is YOUR journey. People will come by to support you, assist you, push you but no one can walk your path for you. You tread your path on yourself, for yourself. You are Your Own Hero.
“We can be sure that the greatest hope for maintaining equilibrium in the face of any situation rests within ourselves.” – Francis J. Braceland
