We often associate even the smallest of failures with a dungeon, escaping which seems impossible at the moment failure hits. Such beliefs make us feel weak and void of self-confidence.
Let’s learn how to break free of all shackles and rise towards the sun of success.

- Normalize Failure by seeing the Bigger Picture:
Widen your perspective and see or listen to how people all across the world, over the centuries have been failing and rising again while refusing to give up. Imagine yourself as the rising ‘Phoenix’ who rose from its own ashes, again and again.
Read how the ancient ruler ‘Porus’ refused to surrender to Alexander in spite of losing the massive war against him.
Your episode of failing isn’t the end of the world for you, see the galaxies, the entire universe, all the solar systems, glorious scientific history of human evolution. Imagine how tiny your episode of failure is in front of this mighty world of possibilities and existences that you have at your expense to explore, learn from and win over.
- Count your Blessings:
Look around you, you have a well-functioning body and mind. You have your allies, people who understand you, encourage and listen to you. You have a comfortable and soft bed to sleep in.
No one is saying that your failure isn’t painful, or that you should give up the sadness or fear in a giffy. It isn’t THAT easy, we understand. The point that is being implied here is that your failure isn’t the end of everything, it isn’t your identity. Neither does it define your worth, nor is it the end of your life.
- Use Hindsight to see How Far you’ve Come:
Look back in the past and recall how far you’ve come. You’ve gained so much; so much more wisdom, love, depth towards life, a dynamic attitude, empathy for the human race and trust of so many individuals.
- Make Notes of your Mistakes:
Now that you’ve gained some insights from your hindsight, it is time to make a list of mistakes you swear not to repeat. That’ll be your motivation to get back up and give you back your wings of resilience.
- Consider Taking a short Break:
If in case you feel burnt out from all the perseverance, you might consider taking a short break that your mind and will need. It’s your right to recharge yourself.
- Change some Habits, Switch some Approaches:
Notice what are some habits that you need to change, what are distractions that you need to give up on, and what are approaches that you need to hold on to. Follow them, gradually. Don’t be too harsh and drastic with yourself. Hold onto mindfulness for better focus and onto balance for long-lasting resilience.
- Indulge in some Positive Self-Talk:
Talk to yourself with kindness like you would counsel a child who is hurt. Positive self-talk works like affirmations. It is said to eventually modify the brain cells to function better.
Take a Deep Breath, It’s OK. I know you can do it, for I’ve seen you work hard.
